Nanomaterials

This SOP details basic safe work practices to follow when working with nanomaterials.   While it is known that nanomaterials can be highly reactive and flammable and can cause various pulmonary and cardiovascular effects, other potential hazards remain unknown due to lack of studies and the novelty of the material.  Occupational exposure limits are similarly limited.  Research activities that pose an exposure risk as well as techniques for mitigation are described in the above SOP.
