Holiday Fire Safety Guidelines

All decorations such as garland, artificial trees, wreaths, tinsel, and streamers must be labeled as "fire-proof," "fire-resistant" or "flame-proof." All holiday lighting should bear a testing lab seal of approval. Never use lights on metalic trees. Natural trees, wreaths and greens are prohibited in public buildings. The use of candles is prohibited in Residence Halls and restricted in all other buildings. Holiday lights should not be left unattended.
