Dig Safe Training
Anyone performing work at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMA) that requires a DigSafe Notification is now required to watch a training video and submit a certification form certifying that the video was viewed and understood. This video was created to outline UMA procedures, as well as review Massachusetts DigSafe and Trenching regulations. The certification is good for a period of two years, after which the video must be again viewed and the certification form resubmitted.
Contractor Safety Orientation
During this disruption of Campus Services, we will still offer the Contractor Safety Orientation Workshops via Zoom. Those who register will receive a Zoom invite via the email provided during the registration process.
UMass EHS is offering training/orientation opportunities for contractors and those involved in the management and oversight of contracts. Contractors are required to attend a Contractor Safety Orientation where we will present Emergency and Environmental Health and Safety procedures and expectations for work performed on campus.
This orientation is required once per year for General Contractor Project Managers, Superintendents and Foremen. UMA Project Managers, Contract Managers, Resident and Construction Engineers are also required to attend annually. UMA employees may sign up using your Spire ID by clicking on the session you would like to attend. Off-campus (non-UMass employee) attendees should pre-register by sending email@example.com the following information for each attendee:
- Full Name
- Company Affiliation
- Email address
- Telephone number.
