Compressed Gases

This document outlines the procedures to be used for the safe handling of compressed gases. Depending on the type of gas, quantity, and intended use, a variety of hazards may be present.  Typically, hazards include: high pressure, asphyxiation, fire or explosion, and various health effects.  Given the many hazards, it is important that high pressure gases be handled, stored, used, and removed from service in ways that will mitigate these hazards.  This SOP provides general guidance to aid in this process.
