The Biosafety group provides a full range of services to UMass Amherst's biological laboratories, farms, crop research zones, fisheries and agricultural research areas where potentially hazardous materials are in use. We work in a collaborative fashion with the academic community to foster an environment of safety and compliance where research and creativity can thrive.

Training
Biosafety Trainings are required for all individuals working in a biological lab. Please take the biosafety training through SciShield.
Specialized Biosafety Training
Contact us at askehs@umass.edu to schedule specialized safety trainings (Calf Management Safety, Livestock and Poultry Safety). General biosafety training and Field Research Safety training are required annually through SciShield.
